IM MY OWN BLESSING was born late November 2010 around Thanksgiving holiday. A group of young adults decided to come together to make brown sack lunches for the homeless and destitute of San Diego county.
After reflecting on all the positive aspects of their lives, this group was motivated to create something for those who have almost nothing. In this spirit of gratitude and giving, they agreed to collaborate on a small project to feed the homeless for a meal through simple packed lunches but most importantly, providing a humanitarian touch. We not only gave a meal, we gave away love, understanding, hope and a sense of sincere care. We encouraged our friends and family to bring their children.
In late 2011, a clothing drive was introduced to the program.

OUR PURPOSE
IM MY OWN BLESSING is here to service and strengthen the community one blessing at a time by raising awareness regarding the on growing homeless population in San Diego, CA by providing the youth with a platform in which they can participate, create and learn about humanitarian work.
IM MY OWN BLESSING is an advocate to the community and its main reason for existing is to give the community the opportunity to give back to the less fortunate through work they themselves maybe never even knew they cared to do. IMOB exposes the need for supplies and shelter toward our fellow homeless and misplaced brothers and sisters of San Diego County. When the youth volunteer it gives us the opportunity to support their current outreach experiences and or to sometimes introduce such acts by the action of providing someone with a meal and some clothes hand to hand. We then plant a humanitarian seed, a seed we know you will want to keep nurturing.
